Myths, Legends, & Tales: We will take notes on "Jack and the Devil's Daughter," a black folktale and then we will read a Japanese ("Gombei & Wild Ducks") and German folktale ("The Fisherman & his Wife"). See if you can discover the theme these two stories have in common.
CIS College Comp: After we practice ACT questions, we will work on our Narrative Essays. Remember to read "Shooting an Elephant" on page 126 and answer the Purpose and Audience Questions 2 & 3. Explain your answers. Tomorrow, we will do Peer Review/Share your essays.
Speech: After vocab practice, we will read The Last of the Breed read for ten minutes. Then, we will then continue presenting our A Case of Fear Speeches. We will talk about what it means to be a good audience, too.
Young Adult Lit: We will discuss Chap 19 - End today. Then read The River or your "A"-contract novel Shane. Write a summary of what you read today. It must be at least 5 sentences and it must "cover" what you read. We will test on The River on Friday.
Bible Lit: First, we will take some notes on the story of Noah. Read it and answer the story questions from Genesis 6-9.
