Myths, Legends, & Tales:  We will take notes on "Jack and the Devil's Daughter," a black folktale and then we will read a Japanese ("Gombei & Wild Ducks") and German folktale ("The Fisherman & his Wife").  See if you can discover the theme these two stories have in common.
CIS College Comp:  After we practice ACT questions, we will work on our Narrative Essays. Remember to read "Shooting an Elephant" on page 126 and answer the Purpose and Audience Questions 2 & 3.  Explain your answers.  Tomorrow, we will do Peer Review/Share your essays.
Speech: After vocab practice, we will read The Last of the Breed read for ten minutes. Then, we will then continue presenting our A Case of Fear Speeches. We will talk about what it means to be a good audience, too.
Young Adult Lit:  We will discuss Chap 19 - End today.  Then read The River or your "A"-contract novel Shane.  Write a summary of what you read today. It must be at least 5 sentences and it must "cover" what you read.  We will test on The River on Friday.
Bible Lit:  First, we will take some notes on the story of Noah.  Read it and answer the story questions from Genesis 6-9.
