Myths, Legends, & Tales: After taking notes on the oldest English poem in existence, Beowulf, we will read a story version of this folktale. Answer the story questions on your own paper.
CIS College Comp: After we practice ACT questions, we will review what a good thesis accomplishes. We will discuss "Finishing School" by Maja Anjelou in small groups and figure out the implied thesis of this selection. Also, read "Sixty-None Cents" by G. Scteyngart on p. 103 and answer these questions: Comprehension #6 and Purpose/Audience #1,2, 3.
Speech: After vocab practice, we will read The Last of the Breed read for ten minutes. Then, we will presenting our "Keep 'Em Talking" interview. If there is extra time, we will do impromptu "Once Upon a Time...Storytelling."
Young Adult Lit: We will take some notes and discuss Chapters 9-11 in The River. Then, we will read the novel. Write a summary of what you read today. It must be at least 5 sentences and it must "cover" what you read. Be sure you have turned in Summary Page #1.
Bible Lit: We will take some notes on the Creation and Fall story. You may work with a partner on Genesis 1-3.
